The pedagogical development program, themed “Building a Collaborative Classroom, Differentiated Instruction, and Building Collective Efficacy,” was provided by Finnish Global Education Solutions for Patumwan Demonstration School. This even was held between 16-22 November 2023

This comprehensive program comprised one week of online training and two weeks of onsite training. The onsite training began with a two-and-a-half-day workshop, attended by all teachers from the EPTS program and interested teachers from the regular program.

Throughout this program, our teachers had the opportunity to learn and experiment with various micro-skills. These encompassed new teaching techniques, strategies to foster a respectful, safe, and engaging classroom atmosphere, and a constructive mindset to fortify their identity as educators. These skills serve as vital elements in building a collaborative classroom, a topic extensively explored during the workshop.

Furthermore, all teachers were assigned to study various factors that contribute to the effectiveness of studying in Finland. They diligently researched these factors and incorporated them into their teaching plans. To enhance the effectiveness of these plans, Mr. Elo and Ms. Sunila, the two pedagogical specialists from Finland, observed numerous classrooms during the following week, providing teachers with reflective and constructive feedback.

Another objective of the training was to strengthen collaborative efforts among teachers and the executive staff, aiming to elevate the school’s standards. To achieve this goal, the executive staff, along with pedagogical specialists from Finland, established the Professional Learning Communities (PLC) program, which is intended to be a long-term initiative.
